Everyday Stolen Artefacts

A series of still life paintings based on objects that have become everyday commodities in the West, but which were originally taken from around the globe.  

 

They are now so ubiquitous that nobody thinks about their  origins. Although I began by painting the objects themselves, I have also reduced them down to a series of fruit-labels.
